Oxygen has been trading in Newark since 1991, making it one of the longest-running independent stockists of premium designer clothing outside the big cities. From its single shop it covers men's, women's and kids', which is unusual for a store of its size, and it's built a loyal following on the sheer breadth of labels under one roof rather than one narrow aesthetic.

The edit moves easily between heritage and outdoor names like Berghaus, Aquascutum and Parajumpers, Italian tailoring and denim from Paul & Shark, Jacob Cohen and John Smedley, and streetwear staples such as Dsquared², Billionaire Boys Club and Von Dutch. Luxury is well represented too, with Versace and Dolce & Gabbana alongside newer additions like Maison Kitsuné and Holland Cooper. It's the kind of shop where a proper wool coat and a hyped drop can sit on the same rail.
